LISTEN TO IT: Asbjørn - "The Criminal"

Asbjørn - "The Criminal"

Aarhus - Danish city where Northside Festival takes place. A hometown of a musician who combine the originality of modern electronic with the delicacy of the 80's - Asbjørn. His single "The Criminal" will put you on your feet right away. The mix of hidden aggressiveness (like in the British Psychologist) with lightness of James Blake sounds.

There's something in this song which force you to dance, as well as think through your actions. Electro-pop melancholy.

Thumbs up for the way the classic piano sound is integrated with the electronic. It gaves the song the class.

"The Criminal" can be downloaded for free  from Asbjørn's Facebook page - under this LINK.

LISTEN TO IT: Belle Ville - "Opium"

Belle Ville - "Opium"

Electro-pop is alive and is going great! For example because of a duo Belle Ville. Their EP "Opium" has 4 songs. Tittled one "Opium" is a vibrating and... sexy composition that invite the listener to the world of electronic sounds with power and grace. Thumbs up for vocals! And a big "like"  for building the tention and using the silence in music.

Sensuality of the song is also a big plus. "Opium" is a bit like a girl on a first date - intriguing, showing some of her charms, but just a little bit! So the boy cannot say no to her and aks her for another date...

P.S. On their SoundCloud profile Belle Ville uploaded interesting remixes of "Opium" (for example the on by VETO vocalist).

You can stream the whole EP "Opium" on the Belle Ville SoundCloud profile:

LISTEN TO IT: SAYBIA - "The Second You Sleep"

Saybia - "The Second You Sleep"

... and suddenly whole reality aroud kind of frozes. Saybia - "The Second You Sleep" in headphones. The song moving both lyrically and vocally. Obvious evidence sound so... simple, yet winsome in this song. Maybe a bit naive as well, but it only gain more charm to the composition. Last verse, almost wispherd words "I wish my God you'd stay" are pith and marrow of the atmosphere of the song. It's a track that you don't want to "let go" from your headphones once it got there. It sad, but also impresses.

"The Second You Sleep" invite the listener to listen to Saybia closer (for example via YouTube)

LISTEN TO IT: GREEN LIVES - "Everybody Knows Who You Are, Anna"

Green Lives - "Everybody Knows Who You Are, Anna"*

Light, soft, warm sounds. Lovely soundtack for the beginning of the day.
Ingenious, uncommon video clip. Disarming children voices. Green Lives create carefree atmosphere in the song "Everybody Knows Who You Are, Anna". Useing your imagination, you can see how the dew trembles on the grass blades. How its drops are flowing on the leaves. Skillful mix of guitars and discreet sound of piano - the key to success and the key to the beauty of this song.

LISTEN TO IT - the music defend itself

"Dobre, bo duńskie" - Polish (and main) version of the blog and its author (which is me, writing these words for you Dear Reader) both will have a rough month in January. Wihout meaningless details - because of the many maaaany stuff to do there will be a new section on the blogs (both Polish and English version). The new thing is called "LISTEN TO IT".

What it is all about?
Sometimes one song can "stuck in your head" for a very long time. Sometimes, after you listen to just one song, you fell in love with an artist. The section "LISTEN TO IT" is devoted to such songs. Those songs which make other melodies dissapear for a while.

One song, (relative) short description/review/whatever you'd like to call it and a lot (a looot) of space for YOUR opinion.

I encourage you to: A. Listen to it! B. Comment C. Share your favorite songs with friends (the "Share" button should work fine). I hope that we will listen to the songs here with great pleasure.

The first one is a true masterpiece.

THE FOREIGN RESORT – Great Britian, Denmark and danishness mixed up together

The Foreign Resort
(translation by Arletta Przynoga)

They created the band in 2006, released debut album “Offshore” in 2009. And now they recorded an EP like a dream. THE FOREIGN RESORT. There’s only one question: how much the British is in those Danes? I think that enough to embarrass the British citizens. And enough to make them (any any other people) fell in love with The Foreign Resort’s music.

To (awesomely) start with -  few words and few photos from last night's (29.10.2011) gig of WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE.

BTW - nice coincidence, first posts on both POLISH and ENGLISH version of the blog were about... WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE :)

So, here it is - WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE at Studenterhuset, Aalborg.

Interview with THULEBASEN - "Music is an universal language"

THULEBASEN

Three musicians. Their debut album "Gate 5" is unique. Three super-nice people. They care about what they say, because they know the meaning of words. Felia, Niels and Nis met up with "Good, because Danish" in Copenhagen, before  THULEBASEN concert at Lille VEGA (as a support of tUnE+yArDs) 08-09-201.

"Polish people joined the massive!"

by Agnieszka Bolek

"They took us by surprise. Usually it takes time to 'rock the house', but their music just suddenly exploded and they threw their energy out from the very beginning. They didn't have to wait long for people to join them."
