THULEBASEN - a different point of view on... everything

Thulebasen
(translation by Arletta Przynoga)

They play „future rock”. Amazing, innovatory, psychedelic music combined with classic rock sounds. Plus a solid dose of... well, „Danishness” (something which cannot be described).

Supposedly there’s no rush in their music. But on the other hand they can play a song which stops the heartbeating.  Unearthly trio – THULEBASEN. Increadible music that shows its true beauty very slowly but very effective.

DARKNESS FALLS - darkness sings and doesn't fall at all!

Darkness Falls
(translation by Ania Kitowska)

On one hand there is undescribable and undefinable energy. On the other hand, there is something melancholic and awakward to it. Female delicacy and strength at the same time. All of it and even more you may hear at the newest EP of Darkness Falls. Warning! Danger of falling in love and getting addicted!

Darkness Falls is a duet established in 2009, which consists of Josephine Philip (vocals and keyboard) and Ina Lindgreen (bass and guitar). Two talented Danish women have released an EP titled “Darkness Falls” in March.

KISS KISS KISS - energy kiss of spring

Kiss Kiss Kiss
(translation by Arletta Przynoga)

Kiss Kiss Kiss

Today a group of young, talented Danish guys will take us on a trip to the land of sunny, bright sounds. Spring sounds. Danish spring. Nice guitars, extremely grown up vocal plus whiff of fascination of a bit more dancing music. Open up on a Spring experience and let Kiss Kiss Kiss kiss you to death with their music!

CODY - Western atmosphere with Scandinavian flair.

Cody

(translation by Agnieszka Bolek)

The band, which sounds family-like.
The band, which sounds alone-like.
The band, which sounds familiar and newly at the same time.
The band, which connects many contradictions. CODY.

THE RAVEONETTES - summer sounds

The Raveonettes

(translation by Arletta Przynoga)

The Raveonettes: Sune Rose Wagner i Sharin Foo

Time to go back to the warming sounds. After The Floor Is Made Of Lava, now we’re going to experience summer sounds from the duo The Raveonettes. They will help us transform to the 60’, somewhere to the California beach, somewhere where’s warm, but not necessarily idyllically.

TREEFIGHT FOR SUNLIGHT - magical music journeys

Treefight For Sunlight
(translation by Ania Kitowska)

TREEFIGHT FOR SUNLIGHT

Light, graceful, pleasant. In addition, with undefinable emotions. Treefight For Sunlight. A wonderful LP, which is difficult to get over, once listened to. If you enjoyed The Eclectic Moniker (nordic-music.blogspot.com music discovery), there is a likelihood, that (like me) you will fall in love with Treefight For Sunlight.

LE FIASKO and others - two in one, four in two, one in three.

Le Fiasko

Do you know what it feels like to fall in love with a song at first listen? This happened to me many times, but I guess never before with such a great power as it was with "Kabul". It's probably one of the saddest, most beautiful songs I have ever heard. And it was created by Le Fiasko band.

VETO - you cannot veto this band!

nordic-music.blogspot.com

VETO
(translation by Agnieszka Bolek)

The band VETO is a perfect proposition for those, who like mix of rock with electro music and (I guess I repeat myself, but nevermind) something, that I call "Danishness" due to lack of better term. It seems like this description introduces just one of many average indie electro-rock bands, but I'd definitely veto that kind of stigmatization in this case!

THE SHAKING SENSATIONS – post-rock with capital „P” as Pure beauty

The Shaking Sensations
(translation by Arletta Przynoga)

Today's post will be a bit different. My fascination with post-rock is one, but the knowlage about this genre of music is the other. It's hard for me to write about it. So I decided to leave it to those who probably knows a lot more about post-rock than I ever will. Because it would be a huge pity to ruin the post about such an amazing post-rock band from Denmark. People who knows a lot about this kind of music says that THE SHAKING SENSATIONS are "the ambassadors of Danish post-rock". Sure they are!

THE SEVEN MILE JOURNEY - post-rock with a capital "P"

The Seven Mile Journey
(translation by Agnieszka Bolek)

The Seven Mile Journey

"Post- rock band from Denmark, which works with instrumental music since 1999. The members are: Nicolai, Jakob, Morten and Henrik. The basis of their music are dynamic changes. Deep, long and intense sound surfaces completely absorb the listener." - this is what description of The Seven Mile Journey on their last.fm profile says.
